Regional Coordinators

Regional Coordinators organize and oversee the Regional competitions in February. On the day of competition, Regional Coordinators lead judge orientation, welcome teams and family members, deal with issues that arise, conduct the Awards Ceremony, and meet with the Regional champion concerning advancement to State Finals. In all of these activities, they work in concert with the Site Coordinators.

Fayetteville

Brenée W. Orozco. Brenée received her Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York in 2001. She relocated from New York to Sherwood, Arkansas where she earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2005. Upon moving to North Carolina in the winter of 2007, she began to study for the North Carolina Bar Exam and was licensed to practice law in 2008. Her main area of practice is Abuse, Neglect and Dependency. However, she has experience in practicing in other areas of Civil Law in addition to experience in practicing in Criminal Law. As a former President of the Bar Exam Committee of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the NCBA, she tutored applicants as they studied to pass the North Carolina Bar Exam. Each year, since around 2010, Attorney Orozco has served as a scoring juror during competitions. She also serves on the NCMTP Board.

Gastonia

Rachel Mosser. Rachel was born in Ontario, Canada and in 2002 her family relocated to Greenville, SC. She attended The University of South Carolina – Columbia for her undergraduate degrees, where she double majored in Criminal Justice & Criminology and English in 3.5 years, graduating May 2017. Rachel then attended Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where she graduated with her Juris Doctor in May 2020. Since graduation, Rachel has practiced personal injury law at Maginnis Howard.

Goldsboro

Christopher Rogerson. Judge Rogerson serves as a District Court Judge in District 8, which serves Greene, Lenoir and Wayne counties. Rogerson is a Kinston native who earned his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Campbell University.

Greenville

Alexander “Alex” Paschall. Alex has been Assistant Public Defender at the Pitt County Public Defender’s Office since 2018. For the past 9 years, Alex has volunteered as a Case Review Specialist with the Campbell Law Innocence Project and an Interviewer with the Campbell Law Reentry Project. He is a proud graduate of the Campbell University, Adrian Wiggins School of Law.

 Hendersonville

Mary Ann Hollocker. Mary Ann teaches criminal justice at Brevard College in Brevard, NC. She received her Ph.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and her B.S. from Loyola University of Chicago. She has served as NCMTP Regional Coordinator for several years.

Hickory

Jason E. Taylor. Jason graduated from Hobart College in Geneva, NY and American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. In 1993, Jason commenced his legal journey in Charlotte and later co-founded a firm in the spring of 1996. In April 2005, he established The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor, P.C. with offices in Charlotte, Hickory, Columbia, South Carolina, Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Greenville, North Carolina.

High Point

Eric Richardson. Eric coached local high school mock trial teams for many years before becoming a Regional Coordinator. He also graduated several students to go on to compete in college mock trial. He is the owner of ER Law, a boutique litigation firm with offices in Greensboro and Reidsville. ER Law litigates matters in Personal Injury law, Criminal law and Family law. Hillsborough

Drew Haywood. Drew practices law at The Law Office of Drew Haywood in Durham, NC. He grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was the recipient of the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship Award. At UNC, he served as the Undergraduate Student Attorney General. Drew attended law school at Emory University, in Atlanta, where he was a member of Law Journal as well as a participant in the Trial Techniques Program. His interest in the law began when he was a participant in the NC Mock Trial Program in high school. He was a member of the first-ever Mock Trial team at Asheboro High School, and won a state championship, advancing to nationals under coaches Steve Schmidly and Andy McVey. He has served as Regional Coordinator for many years and serves on the NCMTP Board.

Rebecca Ugolick. Rebecca is an Associate with Howard Stallings Personal Injury practice. She has experience litigating claims for wrongful death, personal injury, and a broad range of civil litigation before state and federal courts, including cases involving vehicle accidents, (civil and criminal) professional negligence, premises liability, and products liability. She has also litigated numerous cases involving complex insurance coverage issues on behalf of property owners. In addition, Rebecca represents clients in business litigation cases, having represented numerous entities from small area businesses to large financial institutions and corporations in matters including contract and intellectual property disputes. She also has extensive experience in other areas of litigation, such as trusts and estates. Rebecca has represented clients in all phases of litigation, including jury and bench trials, arbitrations, mediations, hearings, depositions, and written appeals before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court.  Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science cum laude from West Virginia University and her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University. She is a member of her local and state bar associations and an active member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Rebecca is licensed to practice law in North Carolina State Courts as well as all Federal Courts in the State of North Carolina.

Lincolnton

Megan Gilbert. Megan was born and raised in a small town in Catawba County. She attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received her bachelor’s degree in 2011, and North Carolina Central University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2014. Following law school, Megan returned home to Maiden, North Carolina where she lives with her husband, Justin and son, Maddox. She began her career in creditor representation and real estate, but eventually found her true passion in working with local governments in 2018. Megan was appointed as the County Attorney for Lincoln County in 2021, and continues to serve in that role as in-house counsel for the County. Megan is in her 2^nd year as District Bar President for the 39^th Judicial District (Lincoln & Cleveland), and is also licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee.

Raleigh Campbell

Jordan Godwin. Jordan is an attorney at Henson Fuerst in Raleigh. He is passionate about being the voice of the most vulnerable members of our community and wants to use the law to help prevent systemic abuse and neglect. Jordan represents plaintiffs in complex litigation cases involving nursing home negligence and medical malpractice. He has tried multiple district and superior court trials to a successful jury verdict and handled matters in the North Carolina appellate courts.

Jordan participated in the North Carolina High School Mock Trial Program during all four years of high school. In 2017, he graduated from Methodist University and moved to Birmingham, Alabama to attend Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law for its formidable trial advocacy program. While at Cumberland, Jordan was selected to join the American Journal of Trial Advocacy – the Nation’s oldest law review dedicated to the art of trial advocacy. He served as the director of Cumberland’s Arbitration and Mediation program and, in 2020, led Cumberland’s Arbitration Team’s first-ever advance to the ABA National Arbitration Competition.

Anna Claire Turpin. Anna Claire focuses on nursing home abuse and neglect cases at Henson Fuerst. With a background in the areas of family law and personal injury, she has experience helping families and individuals navigate through traumatic and overwhelming situations. Anna Claire moved to Raleigh from a very small town in rural southern Virginia to attend Campbell Law School. While in law school, she was selected to join Campbell’s Trial Team and renowned trial advocacy program. Through this experience, she learned how to convey a client’s story skillfully and effectively in the courtroom to a Judge, jury, and the defense. Ultimately, she and her teammates won the regional competition at the American Association for Justice trial competition and then went on to win Campbell’s first ever National Title. She also received an Outstanding Advocate Award at the South Texas Mock Trial Competition.

Being prepared, paying attention to details, and relentlessly fighting for what’s right are what guide Anna Claire’s practice. She passionately pursues justice for those who need it against corporations that sacrifice human dignity and respect to make a profit.

Raleigh Courthouse

Kathryn Martin. Kathryn lives in the Raleigh area and is a practicing corporate attorney for a leading cybersecurity software company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, in 2012 and her law degree from the University of Richmond in 2015. She has been involved in various mock trial competitions, both high school and collegiate level, for over 10 years.

Wilmington

John H. Anderson, Jr. John has been involved in the mock trial program for many years and has served as the Regional Coordinator for the Wilmington region since 2011. John practices law with Murchison Taylor & Gibson PLLC and lives in Wilmington, NC. His practice areas include general business and commercial litigation, employment law, dispute resolution and financial services litigation where he represents business clients in a variety of business, banking and commercial litigation matters.
