Central Carolina Homeschoolers win the Larry Bakko Professionalism and Civility Award

Posted: May 9, 2024
Congratulations to the Central Carolina Homeschoolers (CCH), as they represented the great state of North Carolina this past weekend at the 2024 National High School Mock Trial Championship in Wilmington, Delaware. This outstanding team, coached by Judge Darren Allen and Janet Phillips, was awarded the Larry Bakko Professionalism and Civility Award. This award is given to the team that best displays civility, professionalism and sportsmanship throughout the entire competition. All 48 participating teams, which included 45 teams from the U.S., as well as South Korea, Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands, voted for the winner. We are so very proud to announce that Central Carolina Homeschoolers won this prestigious award for the 2nd time!

Central Carolina Homeschoolers drew one of the toughest schedules of the 2 day, 4 round competition. During round 3, they went up against Pennsylvania, the eventual national champion. Our team fought tooth and nail, and gave PA their tightest margins by far. In the 4th round, CCH went against the eventual 5th place team, and they also gave them a run for their money. Central Carolina Homeschoolers, you made us so very proud. 🎉⭐️👏
