Our Virtual Mock Trial Summer Camp | July 22-25, 2020

Posted: April 13, 2020

Ready to take your mock trial skills to the next level???

The NC Mock Trial Program is offering a virtual mock trial summer camp this July!  This camp has been made possible thanks to volunteer attorneys and mock trial coaches from across the state.  Join us in July 2020!!

High School students and teachers interested in learning more about mock trial are welcome. Camp registrants will receive private access to our course website with many important resources, interactive presentations and high-impact coaching with mentors as they prepare for a modified end-of-camp trial competition.  Also, registered campers will received printed materials and helpful guides in the mail before camp, along with some mock trial merchandise.

~~~~~
LEARN from some of the most successful mock trial attorney advisors in the state — as they offer pre-recorded instructional videos and lead interactive Q&A sessions with campers in a virtual setting.
And then, PRACTICE what you learn at an end-of-camp scrimmage with guidance from expert mentors from the UNC Carolina and Campbell Law Mock Trial teams – all from the comfort and safety of your home.
Instructors include Darren Allen of AllenLaw in Asheboro; Assistant District Attorney Hailey Bunce with the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office in Greenville; Judge Advocate Amanda Perry, Administrative Law Attorney with XVIII Airborne Corps; Legal Aid of North Carolina attorney Laura Clark; NCMTP program alum and attorney Kelli Clancy and Nicole Winget, Campbell University’s Director of the Fort Bragg and Pope campus of Adult and Online Education and Homeland Security and Criminal Justice Instructor.
As part of the virtual camp, students will divide into small groups on Zoom, where mentors from Campbell Law School and UNC mock trial teams will guide them as they prepare to try a criminal case at an end-of-camp scrimmage.  Camp mentors this year will include Campbell University School of Law’s Macy Stutts, Jordan Arroyo, Josh Steedly, Brandon Irabor,  Matt Hobbs, Kelsey Myers and Daniel Nelson; UNC-CH’s  Jasmine Orsini, Meagan Beacham, Georgia Bronson, Jessica Gross and Linnea Howe; UNC-Charlotte’s Danielle Lucido  and Gray Triandiflou, and HARC teacher coach Sue Gray.
 Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to develop or practice your mock trial skills from July 22 through July 25!  Register for the four-day camp at https://ncmocktrial.org/camps/ncmtp-summer-camps/. The camp fee is $150.  Questions? Please reach out to Program Coordinator Liz Avery-Jones at liz@ncmocktrial.org or download this flyer.
