2017-18 Registration and Important Dates!

2017-18 Mock Trial Season Schedule

Online team registration is available! Go to Online Registration form to fill out the form online. See below for additional important information regarding the new season.

Case Release Date: Friday, Sept. 1, 2017. The competition case will be uploaded to our website at https://www.ncmocktrial.org/competitions/case-materials

Early Registration: Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. Teams registering by the Early Registration deadline will have the best chance of securing a top choice of Regional Site Assignment. Teams can register by downloading and mailing a hard-copy registration form OR by submitting your information online at Online Registration Form. The 2017-18 team registration fee is $175 ($180 via PayPal) and is due on or before Friday, December 15.

Final Registration Deadline and Registration Fee Due Date: Friday, December 15, 2017. No exceptions!! Registration fee is $175 per team ($180 via PayPal). To pay online, go to Online Payment. If paying by check, please make checks out to “Carolina Center for Civic Education.” Note: The signed “Deadlines to Withdraw” reminder form is also due by December 15; please submit it with your registration fee.

Team Member List, Code of Ethics, Release Form Due: Tuesday, January 9, 2018. All forms are available on our website at https://www.ncmocktrial.org/competitions/important-forms

Last Day to Withdraw Without Penalty: Tuesday, January 9, 2018. See Rule 1.8 for details re penalty for withdrawal after this date.

Regional Site Assignments Released: Tuesday, January 16, 2018 or sooner.

Regional Competitions: Saturday, February 3, 2018. Regionals will be held in county courthouses at nine locations across North Carolina: Asheville, Fayetteville, Gastonia, Greenville, High Point, Pittsboro, Raleigh, Salisbury, and Wilmington. Final Team Rosters must be submitted on-site at Regionals registration.

Widenhouse Award Nomination Materials due: Weds., Feb. 21. The Nomination Form is available on the website at “Competition: Registration & forms.”

State Finals Competition: Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, 2018. Campbell Law School in Raleigh will again host our State Finals competition!

National High School Mock Trial Championship: May 10 – 12, 2018, in Reno, Nevada. Our state champion will earn the honor of representing North Carolina at Nationals!
