Dates for the 2013-14 Season have been set!
Case Release Date: Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. The competition case will be uploaded to our website at https://www.ncmocktrial.org/competitions/case-materials
Early Registration: Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Teams registering by the Early Registration deadline will have the best chance of securing first choice of Regional Site Assignment. This year, teams will be able to register by downloading and mailing a hard-copy registration form OR by submitting your information online at Online Registration form. The team registration fee will remain at $150 and must be submitted via check (no online payment). The registration fee is due on or before Friday, December 13.
Final Registration Deadline and Registration Fee Due Date: Friday, December 13, 2013. No exceptions!! Registration fee is $150 per team; please make your check out to “Carolina Center for Civic Education.” Note: The signed “Deadlines to Withdraw” form is also due by December 13; please submit it with your registration fee.
Team Member List, Code of Ethics, Release Form Due: Friday, January 10, 2014. All forms are available on our website at https://www.ncmocktrial.org/competitions/important-forms
Last Day to Withdraw Without Penalty: Friday, January 10, 2014. See Rule 3.2.c for details re penalty for withdrawal after this date.
Regional Site Assignments Released: Friday, January 17, 2014 or sooner.
Regional Competitions: Saturday, February 1, 2014. Regionals will be held in county courthouses at eight locations across North Carolina: Asheville, Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville, Greenville, High Point, Raleigh, and Wilmington. Final Team Rosters must be submitted at on-site Regionals registration.
Widenhouse Award Nomination Materials due! Weds., Feb. 19. Form is available on the website at “Competition: Important forms.”
State Finals Competition: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 – March 1, 2014. Campbell Law School in Raleigh will again host our State Finals competition!
National High School Mock Trial Championship: May 8 – 10, 2014, in Madison, WI. The N.C. state champion will earn the honor of representing North Carolina at Nationals!
